Was it a cough or a laugh?!?
Last Monday, October 30th, 2006 Dakota Karis Sammons had her very first laugh. It was late in the afternoon when I was making a phone call while Dakota watched in curiosity, as I finished my call the words "All done...YEAH!" came out. Just those three words got Dakota laughing! Not her usual coughing laugh...but a real laugh! I grabbed the video camera and caught the tail end of it.
Now I wish we could put it on the blog for all to hear...but Troy and I are not computer savvy...so you will just have to imagine this cute Dakota staring at her mommy laughing away. It was the high of my week!!!

A year already????
This past weekend we went to Tiburon for our one year anniversary, which is where we went on our first date. We had a fun time going to Angel Island, Farmer's Market, Stinson Beach and an Art Show. We are amazed a year has already gone by! The Lord has given us so many amazing blessings...one huge one...Dakota!!! We are enjoying being parents and could not imagine life without her.

Dakota is ready for a 10k....

As most of you know, in early June, our good friend’s Rob and Amy Powell’s father, Bob, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This type of cancer is fatal in most cases because it is usually not diagnosed until it is in the last stages. Two and a half months after the official diagnoses Bob lost his battle with pancreatic cancer and went to be with our Lord. Our small group decided to start a team that would participate in a walk that raises money for the early detection and cure for pancreatic cancer. On October 29th, will be going to LA to participate in The LA Cancer Challenge.
If anyone wanted to support the cause you can do so by supporting Dakota in the walk (as you can see in the picture Dakota is ready to go...wearing her shoes...she just needs to wake up!)
To sponsor Dakota
1. Go to www.lacancerchallenge.com
2. Click on the Purple Tab that says Sponsor A Participant
3. Put in the persons name (Troy and Rebekah are signed up separately, not as a family. You can donate to Dakota under one of us. )
4. Put in donation amount and follow the rest of the directions.
